Marianne R. Stokowski

Marianne R. Stokowski. 84, passed away on April 15, 2024 at Pioneer Valley Health and Rehabilitation in South Hadley. Marianne was born in Springfield, MA, daughter of the late Joseph DePalo, Sr., and Elisa (Maddaloni) DePalo. She attended local schools and graduated from Agawam High School.

Marianne worked as a legal secretary for various law firms for many years. She was a lifetime communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Springfield where she took great pride in singing in the choir.

In addition to her parents, Marianne was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, John E. Stokowski, Sr., who passed away on March 4, 2021, and her brother Joseph DePalo, Jr.

To cherish her memory, Marianne leaves her children John E. Stokowski, Jr. (Cheryl) of North Carolina and Elisa A. Stokowski (Theresa Byrd) of Warren, MA as well as her grandchildren Michael J. Stokowski of New Jersey and Lauren L. Peterson (Jarod) of Maryland.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and entire staff at Baystate Wesson 4, Baystate Hospice and Pioneer Valley Health and Rehabilitation for their compassionate care towards Marianne.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, April 22, 2024 from 10:00 AM – 12:15 PM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 985 Main Street, Agawam, MA.

Funeral services will begin at 12:15 PM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 1:30 PM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 123 William Street, Springfield, MA. Burial will follow in Springfield Street Cemetery, Springfield Street, Feeding Hills, MA.
